Leah Samuel

Leah acts as counsel in various matters and junior counsel at all levels of the Court and tribunals.

Leah’s practice focuses on dispute resolution with a strong emphasis on complex land, employment, tortious and public interest matters. Her general and civil litigation portfolio includes representing clients in various disputes including matters involving strata disputes, the accreditation of medical programmes, the recognition of cardiothoracic surgery graduates on the NSR and claims for the recovery of multi-million-ringgit assets.

Beyond litigation, Leah also provides strategic advice on diverse employment and contractual matters.

Leah has also contributed a chapter on “Litigation in the Construction Court” in “Law and Practice of Construction Law in Malaysia” (Sweet & Maxwell, 2021).

In her spare time, Leah enjoys keeping abreast with developments in environmental law specifically focusing on countries’ implementation of the Paris Agreement as well as climate change rulings (such as the Shell decision and its impact on Big Oil).

Leah obtained her LL.B (Hons) from the University of Leeds and is a Member of the Honourable Society of Middle Temple. She has been an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya since December 2020.
